How wonderful has it been to have some glorious weather over the Bank Holiday? It’s been so refreshing to be able to play outside in the back garden — although it’s becoming very tiresome to keep retrieving BB from the vegetable patch. He’s obsessed with the potato trenches!

I did get BB a Tuff Tray* as you can see! I we’ve had some water play in it, and then BB turned it into a mud bath but we’ve definitely become acquainted. I want to get a few other pieces before the height of summer like chalk, paints and some sensory activities. He’s a very sensory toddler which I love, after years of working with Autism I’ve finally found something I’m quite good at preparing!
A shock development this week is that BB has started pulling at his nappy before he has a wee. He will take himself to the cupboard underneath the TV and close the doors on himself so he’s sat in the dark on his own, before emerging with a poo in his nappy. According to all the advice, that’s potty training territory and while I don’t want him to be growing so fast we have a potty on the way to sit in the corner of the room.
Wish us luck!
Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood and its trials & tribulations. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and each Monday I’m going to share a moment from our week. Over the course of 52 weeks, I’ll have a series of snapshots built up which shows my little boy blossoming!
