Storm Hannah swept through the UK this week, giving us a day of gale force winds and heavy rain. While the rain was great for my potatoes, it wasn’t so great for me and BB who wanted to play outside (or my back garden which flooded, but that’s another matter!)..
When the storm broke, we were straight out and at the park. BB is at the age where exploration is a huge part of his day, and a park nearby is newly constructed so it has soft floors — perfect for a toddler who doesn’t need his mum to have adventures. Although, he does prefer to have mum in the vicinity — I think just in case a bear comes along and he needs a distraction.
This week has been the week his speech has blossomed. He doesn’t make much sense yet but he’s never quiet. We visited my parents for my birthday this week, and it’s the first time I’ve seen him acting shy. For the first few minutes he hid behind me, but after that he was his usual wrecking ball self barrelling round and exploring everything.
Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood and its trials & tribulations. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and each Monday I’m going to share a moment from our week. Over the course of 52 weeks, I’ll have a series of snapshots built up which shows my little boy blossoming!
