This week has been all about creative, fun and messy play in the Button house. I got some pavement chalks for the floor outside and after some coaxing, he did a little mark making independently which makes me happy. He’s still very interested in eating whatever I try play with alongside him, but chalk can’t do too much damage and he soon reasoned with himself that it wasn’t a tasty treat.
This week is supposed to be lovely weather, so I have some rainbow rice ready for his Tuff Tray — rice dyed with food colouring and some containers means that he can experiment with pouring, filling and the feel of rice. Obviously we’ll be outside a lot this week, as long as the weather allows us — being under a blue sky having adventures is the perfect distraction for a teething toddler!
Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood and its trials & tribulations. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and each Monday I’m going to share a moment from our week. Over the course of 52 weeks, I’ll have a series of snapshots built up which shows my little boy blossoming!
