We’ve had a really unsettled week here in the Button home. Our boiler broke down, so after some back and forth with the landlord it was decided a new one should be fitted — but there was a few days where we had no hot water. Now, the littlest Button adores his baths, but it just wasn’t nice without the heating and with water warmed in the kettle.
Baths are an important part of the bedtime routine for us. Bath, a book and then bed — sometimes he doesn’t make the book, he’ll drop right off after his bath. We’ve had that routine since he was around six weeks, so losing the boiler was something BB had to adjust to.
Instead I filled his bath time slot with playtime. Hide and seek, playing with his Toot Toot cars, just general play he loves and while some nights we were up until 11pm we persevered!
Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood and its trials & tribulations. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and each Monday I’m going to share a moment from our week. Over the course of 52 weeks, I’ll have a series of snapshots built up which shows my little boy blossoming!
