We went to the Cheshire Show today, and while the bulk our show experience will be via a vlog coming soon — here are some of the friends we made!
Walking round the show itself was an eye opener, especially as a mother wanting to raise her child to respect the animals that share the planet with him. I was so worried as obviously there was hunting promotion at some stalls, farming for food, the unsavoury sides of our food we don’t really appreciate. While I didn’t like some of the things being promoted or shown, I did understand that it’s all part of the huge jigsaw which makes up our world.
As much as I want to try and lead him in respecting the wild around us, I want him to respect those agricultural heroes that are unsung in daily life and help him understand the journey behind the food on his plate. I firmly believe those are the foundations to helping him create his own core beliefs, I can’t force my own opinions on him!
My son will make his own choices, in a whole different time — who knows what the future holds?
