The September Thrift

As the colder months close in, I’m my happiest. The finds I made last month totally reflect that, with seasonal colours and longer sleeves. I didn’t buy much in the way of clothing last month but as I nipped in to my regular stores to keep an eye out for some winter boots, certain pieces did catch my eye and I had to pick them up.

I love this raccoon jumper – any jumper with an animal on it is a win for me, but this is extra cosy and slouchy. Originally from George, I paid £2.99 for this on a second hand stall at the market. The furry gilet was £1.99 from The Red Cross in Earlestown, which is one of my favourite shops to thrift in – nothing is usually above £1.99 and some days they offer sales which means items are reduced to £1. For baby clothes, you can often pick them up for 50p!

A floral long sleeved top I picked up again, at The Red Cross in Earlestown. I like this because I can throw it on and still feel feminine and whimsical – that wildflower print is wonderful.

My last two finds are skirts. I know, I said I wanted to make my wardrobe more seasonal… But wearing skirts with boots and thick tights is one of my favourite things to do! The polkadot skirt is a little snug, so definitely one to wear when I’ve finally got my bread/pasta/cheese addiction under some sort of stranglehold but the orange and black chevron patterned skirt is wonderful. It fits, and the pleat at the front is really flattering – the only thing I struggle with is finding something to pair it with on top!
